The Golf project
This was our final project of the school year. The Golf Project is we built a miniature golf course that represents our historic figure. This project is very different from the others is because there was so much building and creating put into this. First, we needed to create a logo that goes with the title we chose, which is "High Tech Hole in 1". After that, we went to play miniature golf at Tiki Town, to get ideas on how we would build our course. After that, we need a historical topic.
The Math process to me, was pretty difficult. In math, we needed to create a blueprint to show how exactly to get a hole in one, and we needed to provide a proof.--------> There were different kinds of groups that would be useful to this project, and those groups were The Humanities Group, The Math Group, The Art and Marketing Group, and The Video Group. I was apart of The Humanities Group. Our job was to get together the history facts of each group, and put it together on a board. During this project, we worked a lot with the Math Group. Our Historical event was "The Haitian Revolution" and our historical figure was Toussaint L'Ouverture. Toussaint was a slave rebellion leader, and The Haitian Revolution was slave revolt in Haiti, that was formerly known as Saint Domingue, which became a war for independence between the slaves of Haiti and the white colonists. We all needed to build an obstacle to represent what our topic had dealt with. My obstacle was called,"The Mulatto Equality". The mixed race population in Haiti, who were known as the mulattoes, wanted equal rights as the white population. The obstacle represents how they fought for equality, and their rights to vote. The prep for exhibition was fun. The day before, was very busy. I remember that there was so much to do. Everyone had something to do and everyone was also moving and no one didn't even take breaks. The next day, there wasn't to much to do. Since I needed to be Toussaint L’Ouverture, I was dressed as him for my whole shift of presenting my course. The building process was stressful and a little bit fun. There was a lot to be done and it was hard trying to find something to do on your own, for me.There was so much to do in little time which made it even harder. This project took us a couple of months and building the obstacles took us a couple of weeks. I didn't have one main job, I had different kinds of jobs, but mainly lifting objects and placing them where they are supposed to be. Also, The Video Group needed to make an information type of video for each group. My group selected me to be Toussaint L'Ouverture. |
