The purpose of this project was to go Into The Wild and learn the circles of life. The person who was important for this project was Chris McCandless. Chris McCandless was born on February 12, 1968 in El Segundo, California. After he graduated from law school, he donated $24,000, which was all the money he had left, to Oxfam International, a hunger prevention charity. Around June 28th 1990, he traveled to Arizona and changed his name to ''Alexander Supertramp''. In August of 1992, Christopher Johnson McCandless died of starvation, by eating wild potato roots for food, but ended up starving himself to death.
Headlamp
Since we were going to camping in the desert with no source of power, we had to have headlamps. Since headlamps are so expensive, we decided to just create one ourselves.
What we had to was to create a LED Headlamp. The headlamps we had were parallel, which means’’Where the electric current can follow more than one path to return to the source, so it splits up among all the available paths. The LED lights are put in parallel so that they have the same voltage, meaning each device (light) will produce it’s full output. The circuit that controls the switch, has only 1 voltage which holds the batteries and the 3 resistors. The solder powers the headlamp. The reason why we used LED lights because they don’t burn out as fast as regular light bulbs.

Soda can stoves
The picture shows a spec sheet of the soda can stove that we created to heat are food while we were in Borrego Springs. It was a 2 day process but wasn't really difficult to complete.
Compass
We made the compass out of acrylec plastic. We measured it and cut and used a laser cutter so actually cut it to make a rectangle shape.
